UK holidays – Holiday Parks

It is now that time of year where everyone is looking at their options for the upcoming Summer holidays. Everyone is lightly browsing the holiday sites looking at tropical destinations before looking at the holiday savings pot and deciding that it’s probably best to go short-haul instead. With everyone feeling the pinch in one way or another, UK holidays have really taken off and this year is expected to be no different.

In this article however I wanted to look at a certain type of UK holiday – the holiday park. Now there are a few possible options for your UK based holiday, but holiday parks are something well worth looking into. Cottages, B&B’s, hotels and camping are some of the possibilities you’ve likely considered, but holiday parks offer something all of these cannot and hopefully I’ll be able to get that across below.

There are some major players these days in the holiday park industry, with Haven leading the way, closely followed by operators like Park Holidays UK and Centerparcs. All of these operators offer accommodations, restaurants within a 5 minute walk, on site entertainment, trips in the local area and beach front locations. Those are the things most people consider when finding their perfect cottage or B&B or camping site when deciding to go away for the week. With the parks, you get everything rolled into one.

The major plus for some of the parks is purely the amount of entertainment that is on offer for the whole family. Kids are able to make use of things like Treasure Hunts, Laser Combat, Disco’s, Playgrounds, Shows, you name it. Older kids (often called teenager) will definitely enjoy some time on the beach or playing sports on the numerous football fields, tennis courts or even fishing lakes that some parks have to offer, not to mention the indoor and outdoor heated pools with plenty of activities also.

Even adults have a choice of beach, spa, sport, country-side walks or just simply relaxing on your own patio back at the accommodation (depending on the accommodation you choose of course).

Food is pretty much all taken care of as well. There are plenty of restaurants on offer within the parks themselves, ranging from Burger King, Papa John’s, local Fish and Chips, to convenience stores so you can do your own homemade al la carte menu. You’ve also got the option of course to leave the park altogether, go searching for some local cuisine using a trustee Trip Advisor review apps to find the best in the area.
